Weather – Heavy rainfall causes floods and landslidesThe Southwest monsoon has already arrived. Some places experienced pre-monsoon, and the heavy rainfall has led to flood conditions in many districts of Mumbai. There is a heavy rainfall prediction for states like Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand until 29 July 2021.

The death toll due to the floods in Maharashtra has risen to 164. About 100 people are also missing - according to the report of the state government. Seven rescue teams of the Indian Navy are assigned in Ratnagiri and Raigad to provide assistance to flood-affected people. Kolhapur district is also severely affected by floods where houses and roads are fully merged in the water. Six NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams are working in Kolhapur and they have rescued around 1500 people.

There have been landslides in eight places due to heavy rainfall in Karnataka. Over 9000 people have been rescued and 9 people have lost their lives.

The death toll in China has increased to 56 due to rainstorms in Henan Province. More than 7.5 million people have been affected by heavy rainfall and floods.
