Whale swallows man and spits him outAn American man named Michael Packard recently had a very interesting meeting with a whale. The whale swallowed him whole! But thankfully, it spat him out almost immediately.

Michael was fishing for lobster in the sea near Massachusetts, US. Then, suddenly, he was 'gulped' up by a huge humpback whale. He was trapped in the whale's mouth for 30 seconds. After that, the whale spat him out!

When the whale spat him out, Michael couldn't believe what happened but was very happy to be alive. Then, his fellow divers pulled him back to their fishing boat. Michael is doing okay now.

It is one of the biggest whales in the world. They can grow up to 18 metres long and weigh about 40,000 kgs (about the same weight as 7 African elephants).

Thankfully for Michael, despite their huge size, humpback whales eat only small fish and shrimp-like animals. Experts say that perhaps the whale "ate" Michael by mistake when it was eating its food.
