Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi has taken a stunning photo from space! He recently returned to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS). But on his last day on the ISS, he took a photo of a certain famous site on Earth from space.

(The International Space Station (ISS) is a man-made satellite. It has been orbiting Earth for more than 15 years and provides a big platform for scientific researches.)

After he came back, he shared the photo on Twitter. You can see this photo above.

So, what famous place do you think this photo shows? Hint: It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is in Egypt. It’s a photo of the Pyramids of Giza from space! In fact, we are sure you remember reading about them children in our news!

The Pyramids of Giza consist of three pyramids. They are – the Great Pyramid of Giza, the smaller Pyramid of Khafre (or Chephren), and the Pyramid of Menkaure. These pyramids are places where the ancient kings of Egypt (called pharaohs) were buried.

They are around 4,500 years old and are among Earth’s oldest and grandest historical places.

If you were an astronaut, what kind of photo would you take from space?
