The men’s national teams from each of the FIFA member associations are now competing in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is an international football tournament.

Qatar is host to the 22nd FIFA World Cup from November 20 to December 18, 2022. The group stages are almost through, and the competition will soon advance to the round of 16.

There have been a total of ten teams that have advanced to the knockout stages in Qatar. Among these teams are France, Brazil, Portugal, and Argentina.

During the first round of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the 32 teams that were there were split into eight groups.

These were labelled A through H. In a format called “single-headed round robin,” every team in a group plays against every other team in the group exactly once.

The top two teams from each group then move on to the Round of 16, which is the first of the knockout rounds at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Key facts!

  • France was the first team to make it to the Round of 16.
  • Kylian Mbappe has been France’s best player so far, and he is one of the top contenders to win the best scorer award at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
  • In a similar way, Cody Gakpo has been the driving force behind the Netherlands’ campaign, which has helped them finish first in Group A and move on to the Round of 16.
  • Group B is also over, with England coming in the first place because they won two games and tied one.
  • The United States men’s national football team finished second in Group B.
  • Brazil won both of their first games and advanced from Group G to the knockout stage early (2-0 vs Serbia and 1-0 vs Switzerland).
  • Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, also had no trouble getting out of Group G and into the round of 16.
  • Poland, led by Piotr Zielinski, beat Mexico in a tough game and moved on to the next round as the second-place team because they scored more goals than Mexico.
