School News – Delhi Public School, Sonepat

School news – Delhi Public School, Sonepat

In this 21st century, the world is changing fast. The conventional education curriculum, which was developed in the early 20th century, has to pave the way to a new kind of education and learning must surpass the four walls of a classroom.

The sole vision of Delhi Public School, Sonepat is not only to make the young, perfect in any one of the streams but also to open and dispose of their minds. We frame activities to be executed around the year to help students to develop problem-solving, reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking and collaborative activities. We groom students as participation helps them in their emotional development, social skill development and overall personality development. We wish to emphasize more on the method of teaching than the content.

DID THE PANDEMIC CHANGE THE ROLE OF TEACHERS?

The COVID-19 crisis has forced education systems worldwide to find alternatives to face-to-face instruction. Developing strong attitudes towards learning can help students overcome some of the potential challenges posed by online learning such as, for instance, remaining focused during online classes or maintaining sufficient motivation. For young children, play is the primary vehicle for learning. It provides opportunities for self-discovery and social connections, and it allows kids to try out ideas in a less pressured environment. Play develops imagination and speaking and listening skills.

Our education providers are very special to us, and our wonderful kids validate them by celebrating a day specially for them. Teachers Day is a day that is celebrated every year when students express their gratitude and utmost respect towards a teacher.

Pre Primary department celebrates Teachers’ day with great joy and fervour

DATE: 2.09.2021

DAY: THURSDAY

Enthusiastic kids of nursery classes – Two pay tribute to their worthy and lovable teachers for their contribution to our lives. Students dressed up as their teachers were fun to see and experience. The event was a wonderful experience for the children – an amalgamation of knowledge and entertainment. Teachers loved to see their replicas during this online session.

  • The brain engages differently when we write something by hand.
  • Studies show that writing improves memory; students retain learning better when working with new ideas through handwriting instead of typing.
  • Engaging the body in writing by hand helps make writing a more holistic activity.
  • Learning the alphabet by interacting with each letter in many different physical ways helps students retain the letters.

HANDWRITING COMPETITION

Handwriting competition was organized for the Pre-primary department on

 30.09.2021 (FRIDAY)

Students practised for this competition. A practice session was conducted during the online session so that the class facilitator could guide the students to be very careful about the strokes, formation of the letters and punctuation. On the day the competition was held, the best five sheets from each class were selected and each teacher shared it with its co-teacher for the final result. Kids learnt through this competition how to be vigilant while writing and taking utmost care of punctuation.
