Ruskin Bond’s ‘Pret in the House’: A Heartfelt Review

Among all the stories written by Ruskin bond the one in which I laughed heartily while reading was ‘Pret in the House’. I have read this story in the book ‘Great Stories For Children’ also written by Ruskin Bond. The name of the story had fascinated me to read it the first. Then I got to know that it’s extremely funny and you can’t stop laughing for just a second.

The Bunglow in which Ruskin Bond lived, there was a Peepal tree which was the Pret’s first abode. He was a mischiveous ghost who didn’t disturb anyone in the house but the traffic annoyed him. He scares away the ponies of the passing tongas, get into the engines of the vehicles, knocked of the sola-topis which the sahibs wores.

But after Ruskin Bond’s grandpa ordered to cut the tree for road widening, the Pret got into the house. He used to hide grandma’s glasses when she put them of tumbled grandpa’s sweet peas, knocked of uncle Ken’s bed clothes at night, exchanged Aunt Minie’s toothpaste with grandpa’s shaving cream, hit Aunt Minie’s nose with a jackfruit and often Ruskin bond’s writing ink was found in the soup and he couldn’t do any homeworks. But when at last day thought to change the house, while driving it was realised that the pret was sitting on the car.

I enjoyed this magnificent and amazing story very much.

And I highly recommend this piece of funny story to everyone above 7 years ‘Pret in the House’ is incredible so I would like to read it 5 stars means the full marks.
