India weather

Heavy rainfall and landslides in Uttarakhand have led to blocked roads. Ranikhet and Almora have been cut off from the plains.

Fuel is running low in Ranikhet as it has been reserved only for emergencies, Electricity had also been cut off but has now been restored. Telephone and internet lines have also been cut off in many areas.

Rescue teams are working on rescuing stranded tourists and locals in the region. Overall, at least 46 people have died in rain-related incidents across the state.

Yesterday, Nainital was also flooded and cut off but connectivity is now restored.

Many roads are blocked while Air Force helicopters are helping to rescue people. The NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) said that they have sent 15 teams to the area.
