Sumit Antil is a Paralympian javelin thrower. He won the second gold medal for India at the Tokyo Paralympics. He won the medal after making a world record in javelin throw of 68.55 metres. In fact, he broke the world record thrice in the same event!

Sumit Antil belongs to Haryana. He lost his left leg below the knee after being involved in a motorbike accident in 2015. However, it did not stop Sumit from striving towards his aims. The GoSports Foundation supports Sumit through the Para Championship Programme.

This inspirational Paralympian has won many medals. In 2019, at World Para Athletic Grand Prix, Sumit won a silver medal in the F64 category. Adding to it, he also won a silver medal at World Para Athletic Championship in 2019, held in Dubai.

China is currently in the first position followed by Great Britain and Russia at second and third position. With 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals, India is at 29th position in the medal tally at Tokyo Paralympics.
