Happy World Children’s Day
Every year on 20 November, we celebrate World Children’s Day to promote children’s wellbeing. It also promotes the importance of child rights and building a better future for children as they are our leaders of tomorrow.
This year, the theme for the day is ‘A Better Future for Every Child’. The theme aims to talk about building a better world for children. And it encourages all young people to speak up for their rights.
World Children’s Day 2021
To celebrate this day, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) has started the #GoBlue campaign. It aims to highlight child rights and the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on children’s lives. Last night, India lit up the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Qutub Minar and other monuments across New Delhi as part of the GoBlue campaign.
This year, a magazine for parents called Parent Circle is also promoting the #GadgetFreeHour campaign. It encourages parents all over the world to not use their electronic gadgets for an hour (between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm) on World Children’s Day. This will encourage them to spend more time with their children. Over 50 million people are expected to participate in it.
