Karenjeet Kaur Bains is a determined individual who is working toward a dream. Bains is ultimately tasked with bringing about change.

She is here to demonstrate that it does not matter who you are or where you come from in order to be successful. Karenjeet Kaur Bains is competing in a sport that is predominately male-dominated, which is not usually a situation in which a Sikh woman may find herself.

What is Powerlifting?

Powerlifting is a contest of strength that puts athletes against one another in an effort to see who can lift the most weight in a single repetition.

Fun facts about Karenjeet Kaur Bains!

  • Bains’ athletic career started out with sprinting, and when she was 17 years old, she started powerlifting to help make her faster in athletics.
  • She ran in the Warwickshire Athletic Championships and won five gold medals and four silver medals. 
  • At the age of 17, she soon found that she had a passion for strength training and powerlifting.
  • Throughout her journey as a sportsperson, her father, Kuldip Singh Bains is her biggest supporter.
  • She is also a representative for the Brawn app. It is a platform for strength athletes to connect with each other.
  • One of her goals in life is to disprove everyone’s ideas about what it means to be a strong woman. She feels she has a lot of control over her life when she thinks like that.
