Portugal announces the Gandhi Citizenship Education Prize

Portugal announces the Gandhi Citizenship Education PrizePortugal is a country in Europe. The Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio Costa, recently announced the Gandhi Citizenship Education Prize.

Antonio Costo is currently in India. He announced the award during the second meeting of the National Committee for Commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.
 	The Gandhi Citizenship Education Prize aims to educate and spread the beliefs and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
 	Every year, the Prize will be dedicated to one of Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas or quotes.
 	This year, the award is dedicated to animal welfare. This is because Gandhiji believed that the greatness of a nation depended on how it treated its animals.
 	A lot of other ideas were also discussed in the meeting, including using technology in schools to learn more about Mahatma Gandhi.

The meeting was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan and led by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers also attended the meeting.
