Transparent wood developed by scientists that looks like glass

Transparent wood developed by scientists that looks like glassScientists in the US have developed a transparent wood material that looks almost as clear as glass.

Not only that, this new material is lighter, stronger and can keep heat in better than glass.

Glass is the most common material used in window construction. However, heat transfers easily through it, escaping outside. This means that during cold weather, more energy is wasted as much of the heat escapes through the glass.

However, the new transparent wood is approximately five times better than glass at keeping the heat in.

It is created using wood from a fast-growing tree called the balsa tree. The wood is first bleached with chemicals. Then an artificial compound called polyvinyl alcohol is injected into it to make it transparent.

All this also make the wood 3 times stronger than normal glass and lighter too.

The transparent wood is also eco-friendly and biodegrades much faster than plastic. It is made from a renewable source too - trees, which can be grown again and again.
