India’s 17th Lok Sabha Election results being declared

The results for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 are being announced, as we publish this.

The elections for the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha were held in 7 phases from 11th April to 19th May 2019. Read more

The final poll results are still coming in but BJP-led NDA has come out as the clear winner

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to win by 349 seats. The BJP alone is expected to win over 300 seats, which is more than the seats won last time. The NDA led by current PM Narendra Modi is expected to form the incoming government
 	The Indian National Congress (INC) - led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is expected to win around 80 seats which are 20 more than last time. 
 	Legislative election results were also declared simultaneously in four states – Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Orissa

The Prime Minister Narender Modi congratulated people of the country and BJP party workers for a big thumping victory.
