Saturn is the second-largest planet in the Solar System. The sixth planet in order of distance from the Sun. It is a gas giant and has a radius that is approximately nine and a half times that of Earth on average.

• The planet Saturn is very large. It is the second-largest planet in the solar system.
• However, the most fascinating fact about Saturn is that it consists of mostly hydrogen with some helium. Moreover, it is less dense than water. This means it is lighter than water!
• Since it is lighter than water, it can float on water. None of the other planets in our solar system can do this because they have a higher density than water.
• Its’s surface can have huge storms. It contains some of the fastest winds in the solar system, up to 1800km/h.
• Saturn goes around the Sun very slowly. A year on Saturn is more than 29 Earth years. Each season on Saturn lasts more than seven years
• It spins on its axis very fast. So, a day on the planet is 10 hours and 14 minutes.
• It is so far away from the Sun that it receives much less sunlight than we do here on Earth. Yes, the Sun looks smaller from there.
• The name Saturday comes from Saturn.
