Man donated life savings, showing selflessness

In a wonderful act of selflessness, an elderly Japanese man donated his life savings to the city of Yokosuka. This city is near Tokyo (Japan’s capital).

Selflessness means caring about other people more than yourself.

The man left a bag containing 60 million yen (more than ₹4 crores) outside the government office. This is the money he has been saving his whole life. He asked the officials to use it to help the city, especially now as people are facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

The man is around 70 or 80 years old. But he did not give his name, saying he doesn’t want people to know.

The city is very thankful for the donation. However, this kinds of incidents have happened in Japan last year too.

Isn’t it wonderful when people show selflessness and generosity? What would you like to give to help people?
