What are the world’s best airports for 2021?

Recommended for Middle Grades

UK company Skytrax has come out with the World Airport Awards for 2021. This list ranks the best airports in the world every year.

For the first time in nearly 10 years, Singapore’s Changi Airport is not the world’s best airport.

This year, the top award went to the Hamad International Airport of Doha, the capital of Qatar. In second place is the Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan while Changi is placed third.

Other airports in the World’s Best Airport list include Incheon International Airport (Seoul), Narita Airport (Tokyo) and Munich Airport (Germany). Moreover, Japan was also voted best-rated country overall, with three airports in the top 10.

How were the world's best airports selected?

The airports were voted for by customers in a global airport satisfaction survey conducted from August 2020 until July 2021.

Other awards

Istanbul Airport got the Most Improved award while Changi won the Best Airport Staff award. For the full list of 2021 winners, visit the Skytrax World Airport Awards website.
