Lickable TV lets you taste!

Professor Homei Miyashita at the University of Japan has built a model of a TV screen that you can taste using your TV. Basically, there is a container that sprays flavours onto a hygienic TV film. The Professor has high hopes for this lickable TV screen and believes we can use it for the following:

  1. Assist food experts through remote online sessions in tasting and making dishes.
  2. Allow people to experience tasting food at home, which normally one would eat at a restaurant.
  3. One could even download taste content.

Professor Homei is in talks with various manufactures on other possible uses of such a product. This isn’t the first time Professor Homei has tried to build something like this. Earlier he had built a fork that would make the food taste richer.

One would hope in times of pandemic when staying at home is normal, one gets to buy such a product. Watching Masterchef that allows us to taste the food will be a truly remarkable experience!
