On 21 November 2021 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, India T20 captain Rohit Sharma reached an important landmark in his career. He is the only Indian batsman to hit 150 sixes in T20 Internationals.
Rohit Sharma, idolised by millions of young aspiring cricketers, nicknamed “The Hitman”, reached this milestone in the sixth over of the first innings of the third India vs New Zealand match. He continued his faultless form with the bat and chased his 26th T20I half-century with a thundering roar.
After winning the toss, India decided to bat. Rohit Sharma brilliantly thrashed 56 runs from 31 balls which includes 5 fours and 3 sixes. Alas! The Hitman was sent back to the pavilion, by leg-spinner Ish Sodhi, who executed a miraculous single-handed reflex catch of his own bowl. Ishan Kishan, made 29 of 21 balls and India posted a total of 184/7.
New Zealand could manage just 111 in 17.2 overs, with team India’s left-arm spinner Akshar Patel picking 3 crucial wickets. The match was won by 73 runs by India.
India vs New Zealand
Team India completed a 3-0 series win against New Zealand. After the completion of the T20 series, we will take on the World Test champions in a two-match Test series.
