A baby mouse deer is a new arrival at the Bristol Zoo. But what was so special about it?
The Bristol Zoo is a zoo in the city of Bristol in England. This zoo aims to save animals that are very less in number.
Recently, the zoo welcomed a new member of its family. It is a baby mouse deer. This deer is so small, it is only 20 centimetres tall – that’s as tall as a pencil!
About the mouse deer
This kind of deer is called a Malayan mouse deer. The mouse deer is also called chevrotain. Mouse deer are found in South East Asia and even India. They are known for their tiny size.
The new baby mouse deer is very small and shy. For now, it is enjoying eating new food such as sweet potato.
Last year, in December, the Bristol Zoo also welcomed a baby gorilla named Juni.
We have another new arrival!
This is a lesser Malayan mouse deer & is around the same height as a standard pencil. ✏️
