China and India approve needle-free COVID-19 vaccine!

Recommended for Middle Grades

India and China have given the green light to COVID-19 vaccines that don’t need needles. China has given the green light to an inhalation mist that is breathed in through the mouth and nose.

India’s vaccine is made by Bharat Biotech, and people who have never been vaccinated are allowed to use it. CanSino Biologics makes the vaccine in China, which is used as a boost.

India also gives its OK to a vaccine that will be given in two doses and will be given through nasal drops. In the past, these vaccines that don’t require a needle have been approved to protect against poliovirus, flu, and cholera.

As per experts, these vaccines are examples of mucosal vaccines.

Key facts about needleless COVID-19 vaccines!

  • Mucosal vaccines are made to protect the linings of the mouth, nose, and lungs.
  • In theory, these vaccines could protect people better from getting sick by fighting the virus where it is breathed in.
  • Experts in medicine think that the old vaccines haven’t worked as well against new versions of the virus.
  • But these new vaccines might stop it from going from one person to another.
  • The Covid-19 inhalation vaccines have already been approved by the countries of Iran and Russia.
  • The new vaccine that CanSino is making for China has the same parts as the company’s injectable vaccine.
  • A nebulizer, on the other hand, is used to turn the liquid into an aerosol.
  • Medical experts believe that the benefit of nasal vaccines is that they may get rid of the virus before it can settle in the lungs and start making copies.
