Goldie, the pufferfish goes to dentist

Goldie, the pufferfish goes to the dentist.

Have you ever seen a fish going to the dentist? Sounds weird? But, you heard it right.

What is pufferfish?

Pufferfish is fresh water fish that has spine on its skin and it can blow up like a balloon when it feels threatened.

Goldie, the pufferfish was rushed to the vet doctor when its teeth grew long that it wasn’t able to eat food. The fish was losing its weight as well due to the giant teeth.

The pufferfish’s teeth are kept short because they have a diet of hard-shelled foods. But at her owner’s home, Goldie didn’t have those, resulting in her teeth growing long.

Goldie’s treatment

The pufferfish’s owner took her to the vet dentist. The dentist sedated her by filling her water bowl with a mild anaesthetic solution.

They used a  special saw to trim the inch-long teeth into half so that the fish could eat food. The vet doctor stated that the pufferfish was anaesthetized and was oxygenated during the process.

Though, the fish activated her spines, feeling the threat. Due to the anaesthesia, the doctor was able to trim the teeth.

Later, after the treatment, Goldie was put into a jar and within 10 minutes, she was happily swimming in the water.

Isn’t this cute enough? The pet pufferfish is all happy after getting her teeth trimmed. Have you encountered anything cute amongst your pets? Let us know in the comments.
