Ice wall climbing competition was held in Ladakh.
The North-West Frontier ITBP force organised the event of ice wall climbing. The event was organised in partnership with Ladakh Mountaineering Guide Association.
What is ITBP?
Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP), establsihed in 1962, is a special mountain force that guards Indian borders.
Ice wall climbing Event
The first Ice wall climbing competition was organised on 26th February 2022 in Ladakh. More than 100 climbers took part in the competition. The lieutenant governor of Ladakh, Radha Krishna Mathur attended the opening ceremony.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police shared the pictures and videos of the ice wall climbing competition.

In this video, you can see the lieutenant governor giving the opening speech. Later in the video, you can see the climbers climbing up the ice walls with the help of the ice axes to reach the top.
