Indian Institute of Science receives Rs 425 crore donation from Mindtree.
The Indian Institute of Science has received a donation of Rs 425 crore. IISc will set up a postgraduate medical school with the help of donations. The total amount of donation is considered to be the largest private donation received by the Institute of Science.
IISc Medical institute
The new medical institute will host an integrated dual-degree programme. The course will include MD and PhD degree programmes. This programme is aimed at creating a new breed of physicians and scientists.
The new scientists will pursue careers in clinical research to develop new treatments and healthcare solutions. The scientists will be trained in the hospital as well as in Science and engineering laboratories at the IISc.
Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital
The new hospital will be named as Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital. The multi-speciality hospital will have a capacity of 800 beds in the IISc Bangalore campus.
This hospital will have advanced facilities for diagnostics, treatment and research. The clinical and surgical departments in the hospital will facilitate treatments for different medical problems.
The different medical departments include oncology, cardiology, neurology, urology, dermatology, and many others. New treatments will be facilitated for all the problems.
The Bagchi Parthsarathy Hospital will become operational by the end of 2024. The hospital will implement advanced digital technologies and solutions.
