Inspirational Paralympian – Tek Chand

The Paralympic Games started on Tuesday, 24 August 2021 and so, today, let’s celebrate another inspirational Paralympian from India – Tek Chand.
Tek Chand is a shot put player and he was India’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
In the 2021 Paralympic Games, Tek Chand will compete in the T/F55 category of shot put. He has worked very hard for this big event by completing 200 throws a day. Chand hopes to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
What is shot put?
Shot put is a field and track event in which the players push a spherical ball, as far as they can.

Initially, this inspirational Paralympian was mistaken as a Javelin thrower by the Paralympic Committee of India(PCI). But later on, he confirmed that he will be playing shot put instead.
He has achieved 6th at the World Para Athletic Championship of 2019 so far in shot put.
