  • It is famous for its sunny weather, colourful countryside, wine, food and its Provencal language.
  • The city of Marseille is its capital.

  • The best times to visit Provence are from March to May and September through November, when the weather is moderate.
  • It is a popular summer holiday destination for Parisians and international travellers.
  • Provence enjoys hot & sunny summers and mild winters, similar to that of other Mediterranean areas.
  • It is also popular for its lavender fields, which are in bloom from mid-June to mid-July.

With picture-postcard landscapes, Provence is a favourite destination for many frequent travellers.

In the past, Provence has also attracted many of the most famous artists in the world of the 19th and 20th centuries. They have immortalised this beautiful place in many of their paintings.
