Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) returned to winning ways in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on 2-May with a 7-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to winning ways on 1-May, defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 13 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune in the IPL 2022. 

Gujrat Titans hold the top position on the points table. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) hold the second and third positions respectively in the ongoing IPL 2022. 

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals! 

Rajasthan Royals were given the opportunity to bat first and posted 152-5 in the first innings. Jos Buttler was joined by Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, who blasted three fours and a six in the powerplay to help Rajasthan Royals to a 38-1 lead after six overs. Tim Southee and Shivam Mavi dismissed Samson and Riyan Parag respectively after both batters were caught in the deep.

Chasing 153, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lost an early wicket in Aaron Finch, who edged the ball onto the stumps, as Kuldeep Sen picked up his first wicket of the season. Rana’s two fours and six against Ravi Ashwin helped Kolkata Knight Riders to a 59-2 lead at the midway point of the innings.

Shreyas Iyer hit a six off Chahal before falling prey to a tame dismissal off the bowling of Trent Boult, who had caught the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper behind. 

Summary of the match: The Kolkata Knight Riders scored 158/3 (Nitish Rana 48, Rinku Singh 42; Trent Boult 1-25) to defeat the Rajasthan Royals – 152/5 (Sanju Samson 54, Shimron Hetmyer 27; Tim Southee 2-46) by seven wickets.

Chennai Super King vs Sunrisers Hyderabad!

Ruturaj Gaikwad (99) and Devon Conway (85) were instrumental in Chennai Super Kings’ 13-run triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad.  The duo forged a magnificent match-winning stand to lift the hosts to 202/2 in the first innings.

Aiden Markram and Kane Williamson put on a 30-run partnership for the next wicket. Chennai Super Kings made two changes to their batting order for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad hit half-centuries for Chennai Super Kings in the first innings. However, Chennai Super Kings fell just 14 runs short of the three-figure mark as they were bowled out for 202.

T Natarajan (2-42, Ruturaj Gaikwad 99, Devon Conway 85; T Natarajan 2-42) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad 189-6 (Nick Pooran 64, Kane Williamson 47; Mukesh Choudhary 4-46) by 13 runs.
