More solar energy hits Earth every hour than we use in a year

More solar energy hits Earth every hour than we use in a yearAccording to the US department of energy, about 430 quintillion joules of solar energy hit the earth every hour. 430 quintillion joules means there are 18 zeros after 430.

However, the total amount of energy the earth uses in a year are 410 quintillion joules. This means we use less energy in a year than the Sun give sout in an hour.

The Sun generates solar energy by nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion happens when protons of hydrogen atoms violently collide with each other within the Sun and fuse to form a helium atom. 620 million metric tons of hydrogen fuses in its core per second.

This reaction (also called proton-proton chain reaction) provides continuous energy and heat. The temperature existing there in the Sun is about 4 million degrees on the Kelvin scale.
Conversion of solar energy
The solar energy we get is in the form of bright light-emitting and warmth from the Sun. We can save and use the energy by using a variety of ever-evolving technologies. For instance, technologies like solar heating, photovoltaic phenomenon, solar thermal energy, liquefied salt power plants, and artificial chemical action.

Since most of the energy generation on Earth is through fossil fuel, this is not good for the environment. Hence, there is a requirement for a huge push towards renewable sources of energy, like solar energy.

The above shows that while it is clear that we have an unlimited source of clean energy in the form of solar power, we are not capturing it.
