What is the history and culture of Istanbul?
It was ruled by the Roman Empire under Emperor Constantine the Great. But later, the Ottoman Sultans conquered the city. The local people of Istanbul are called Turks or Turkish. Many of them wear the traditional salvar called dimije and love to sip on the red Turkish tea.
