Rahul Dravid has a “wall” dedicated to him

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

Rahul Dravid is one of the greatest cricketers that India has produced. He is famously known as Mr Dependable for being a steady and reliable batsman. He is also known as The Great Wall or The Wall.

True to his name, he even has a “wall” dedicated to him! To celebrate his 10,000 Test runs, Karnataka State Cricket Association built a wall with 10,000 bricks in the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

It has a metal statue with the inscription of Rahul Dravid playing his trademark cover-drive move. The words “Commitment, Consistency, Class” are also seen there.

The wall is 27 feet high and 15 feet wide. This wall was inaugurated by another cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar.

A national icon

Rahul Dravid was truly a great player. During his career, he scored over 25,000 international runs. He was and is known for his patience and dedication as well as being a respectful person.

Even now, he serves as an inspiration and a role model for the new generation. He currently oversees the progress of India A and India under-19 cricket teams.
