Rahul Dravid is the new head coach of Indian men’s cricket team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach of the men’s cricket team.
The current head coach is Ravi Shastri, who will be the coach till the end of the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup that is currently underway. Dravid will take charge of the team from the upcoming home series against New Zealand, which begins on 17 November 2021.
The BCCi said that the Cricket Advisory Committee appointed Mr Rahul Dravid as the Head Coach of Team India (Senior Men). The committee had been searching for someone to take over from Shastri since 26 October.
Dravid said that it was an “absolute honour” for him to be appointed the head coach of the team.

Dravid is a former India captain and is considered to be one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He is popularly known as Mr Dependable and is also often referred to as The Wall.
Before his latest appointment, he was Head Coach for the India Under-19 and India A teams from 2016 to 2019. Moreover, he is also the Director of Cricket Operations at National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.
2021 T20 World Cup
On 3 November, India registered their first win at the T20 World Cup. India beat Afghanistan by 66 runs. New Zealand also beat Scotland by 16 runs.
India’s next match is against Scotland on 5 November at 7:30 pm IST.
