See an amazing underwater museum in the Mediterranean

Recommended for Foundational Grades

Do you want to see an underwater museum full of sculptures (statues)?

Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN)

Then you can head to the Mediterranean sea. This museum is called the Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN). It has 93 sculptures (statues) by a sculptor named Jason deCaires Taylor and they are all under the sea! Moreover, Jason has earlier created similar museums in Mexico, the Bahamas and France too. This underwater museum is located off the coast of Pernera beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. And it opened to the public on 2  August 2021.

What can you see in this museum under the sea?

You can see sculptures of huge trees as well as children pointing cameras at shapes. There are also many statues related to the environment, pollution and climate change. They put each sculpture inside the sea using a crane.

They are made of materials that are harmless and will attract sea animals. See the museum in the video below.
