See the world’s largest khadi national flag in Leh

This year on Gandhi Jayanti, Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor R K Mathura unveiled the world’s largest khadi national flag in Leh, Ladakh.
What is khadi?
Khadi in India is a type of cloth that is hand-woven and is made from a kind of cotton or silk thread made on a spinning wheel.
The historic event was organised by the Fire and Fury Corps on a hill overlooking the Leh valley. They conducted the event to celebrate the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi along with ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The flag measures 225 feet by 150 feet and weighs around 1000 kg. They took 49 days to create the flag
The world’s largest khadi national flag
150 troops of the Indian Army’s 57 Engineer Regiment carried the national flag. And then, they trekked for around two hours to reach the top of the hill at a height of over 2,000 feet.
Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra took to Twitter and shared a video of the world’s largest khadi national flag. He said that he could not help but get goosebumps on watching the clip. Many other people also shared similar clips on Twitter.
