UN report says India will overtake China as the most populated country in 8 years

UN report says India will overtake China as the most populated country in 8 yearsIndia is set to overtake China as the most populated country in the world by 2027.

The Chinese population will decrease by 2.2% or 31.4 million between 2019 and 2050.
 	India and 8 other countries will make up more than half the world's population.
 	The 9 countries expected to have the biggest increase in population are India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Indonesia, Egypt and the US.
 	This is despite the slow down of global fertility rates (fewer babies on an average are born every year).
 	The average life expectancy* of people is on the rise from 64.2 years in 1990 to 72.6 years in 2019. It is expected to increase further to 77.1 years in 2050.

It is estimated that the world's population would have increased from 7.7 billion to 9.7 billion by 2050.

It will be at a minimum of 11 billion by 2100.

*Life expectancy: Life expectancy is a statistical measure of the average time an organism is expected to live depending on where and when it was born as well as other factors.
