Artificial intelligence (AI) for defence

The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. The department itself is also called the “Pentagon”.

Currently, the Pentagon is testing an artificial intelligence (AI) network to identify future events even before they occur.

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence is a branch of computer science in which computers are designed to perform in a way similar to how humans think.

The Pentagon is conducting tests known as Global Information Dominance Experiments (GIDE).

The AI used in the GIDE test is a combination of satellite imagery, sensors and cloud computing. This technology aims to identify eventful days that may occur in the future.

AI in defence

With the progress in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, today computers can process vast chunks of data that are collected from all over the world. This collected data can be useful in framing tactics (plans) for the defence of a country. For example, it can be used to predict future wars or conflicts.
