Giant pandas bears are known for their cuteness. So, anytime a baby panda is born, it is always big news.

Recently, a giant panda named Huan Huan gave birth to twin cubs (babies) at the ZooParc de Beauval in France.

Pandas are very few in number today and it is hard for them to have babies. So, this is wonderful news. But this time, it is even more special because giant panda twin cubs are very rare!

Huan Huan has had a baby before this as well. Earlier, she gave birth to a baby panda named Yuan Meng. This was the first panda to be been born in France.

When baby pandas are born, they stay stuck to their mothers for a few months and come out only after that. So, for now, we may not see much of the new twin pandas. But, later, the zoo will show them to the public. So, let’s wait for that day.

How small are baby pandas?

Unlike their parents, giant panda cubs are extremely tiny and weak. When they are born, they are 900 times smaller than their mothers.
