‘NEOM – The Line’ has its design unveiled by the Saudi crown prince. NEOM is the name of a planned city in northwestern Saudi Arabia. It’s a smart city and a tourist attraction.

The Line is a 170 km belt of hyper-connected future communities built around nature without cars and roads.

Crown Prince Mohammed showed the basic plan and vision for the metropolis, which rethinks how cities will grow and look in the future.

What is Zero Gravity Urbanism?

Zero Gravity Urbanism is the idea of layering city functions vertically so that people can move easily in all three dimensions to get to them.

Key facts about ‘The Line” at NEOM!

  • The Line will look out for its residents’ health and well-being and will only use energy from renewable sources (100 per cent) as per officials.
  • The design of “The Line” would help make sure that both the growth of cities and the protection of natural areas go hand in hand.
  • Officials hope The Line would bring about the “perfect life” and solve the most important problems that people are facing right now.
  • The Line’s designs show how cities will look when there are no more roads, cars, or pollution.
  • The Line will eventually be able to house 9 million people and will be built on an area of 34 square kilometres
  • The building will keep the right temperature and humidity all year long, so people can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while walking around the building.
  • The residents will also be able to walk to all of The Line’s amenities in less than five minutes.

The crown prince stated that this initiative is a new way to plan the layout of cities.
