World Creativity and Innovation Day – 21 April

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

Every year, on 21 April, we celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day.

This day encourages us to come up with new ideas to make the world a better place to live in. Innovation means (the use of) a new idea or method.

This day is a United Nations (UN) global day. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of using new ideas to solve problems in the world.

This day aims to advance the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs). These are goals that the UN has set for the world to achieve by 2030, to make the world a better place.

Theme of the World Creativity and Innovation Day

The theme for the day this year is “2021, Year of the Creative Economy”. It appreciates all the ways that creativity has helped the world’s economy. Creativity here includes art, design, literature, movies and plays.
