World Immunization Week 2022 – Importance of Vaccines!

The World Health Organization (WHO) commemorates World Immunization Week from April 24th to April 30th, 2022, in Geneva, Switzerland. Its purpose is to promote the broad use of vaccines in order to keep people of all ages healthy and free from sickness.
A vaccine is a type of medicine that is used to make the body’s immune system work better. There are a few vaccines that can be given by mouth or sprayed into the nose to make them more effective. The majority of the vaccines are given with a needle.
Importance of Vaccines!
- As per experts vaccinations are very safe and work well. Polio was once the most feared disease. Today, thanks to vaccination, there are no cases of polio in the United States.
- There are extremely few cases of severe allergic responses following immunisation, according to specialists in the field.
- Some diseases that used to hurt or kill a lot of kids have been completely eliminated and others are close to extinction because of vaccines, as per WHO reports.
- If a child has a vaccine-preventable illness, they may not be able to go to school or child care in some countries, as per health experts. So, it is important to get one’s vaccinations done as soon as possible.
- In the past few generations, a lot of illnesses that killed or seriously injured people have been reduced or even eliminated thanks to vaccines.
- As per WHO almost all countries have started giving COVID-19 vaccines. COVAX delivered more than one billion doses of medicine by the start of the year 2022.
