Grammy Awards 2022

The 64th Grammy Awards 2022 were held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 3rd April 2022. The awards show was hosted by Trevor Noah.

The Grammys honour musical artists, compositions and albums. In 2022, the number of categories for the Grammy Awards had increased to 86.

Winners of the Grammy Awards 2022

  • The opening performance of the Grammy Awards was presented by Silk Sonic with a performance of 777, Brothers Osborne closed the Awards show with their performance of Dead Man’s Curve.
  • Silk Sonic won two awards: Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Leave the Door Open.
  • Olivia Rodrigo won the award for Best New Artist and three other awards.
  • Jon Batiste won the award for the Best music video for Freedom.
  • Summer of Soul won the award for the Best Music Film.
  • Arooj Aftab won the award for the Best global music for Mohabbat.
  • Angelique Kidjo won the award for the Best global music album for Mother Nature.
  • They’re Calling Me Home won the award for the Best folk album.
  • Doja Cat and SZA won the award for the Best Group Performance for Kiss Me More.
  • Jon Batiste won the award for Album of the Year for We Are.

Indians who won the Grammy Awards

Two Indians have won awards at the Grammy Awards:

  • Indian composer Ricky Kej won his second Grammy Award for Best New Age Album.
  • Indian-American singer and songwriter, Falguni Shah won the Grammy Award for A Colourful World in the Best Children’s Album category.
