British lawyer Victoria Evans breaks the records of the solo rowing of the Atlantic ocean
Victoria Evans started her journey from Tenerife, Spain on the Atlantic ocean. She started her journey on 11th February and she covered 4,740 kilometres in 40 days and 19 hours, reaching Barbados.
With the extreme weather conditions, she managed to break the previous world record by eight days.
Challenge for solo rowing
Once, she started the journey, high winds throughout the journey and sleeping made the journey difficult. She shares her experience that she was even stuck in her cabin and she took three hours to open the cabin lock from inside.
In the words of Victoria Evans, rowing is a unique sport. You can’t back off in the middle and you have to face all the difficulties that come your way.
