Prakeerthi Kondamudi – Dreams do come true!

Recommended for Secondary Grades

Prakeerthi Kondamudi, a student in grade 12 at Oakridge International School in Visakhapatnam, India will be pursuing her higher education at the prestigious Stanford University.

Dreams do come true!

It would be an understatement to say that getting into would be a big challenge. The top school gets about 50,000 applications each year and only accepts about 2000 applications. In addition, a global pandemic causes a lot of stress because there is uncertainty about what will happen.

On any other day, getting into Stanford would be a big deal. Today, though, it means a lot more. Prakeerthi Kondamudi, a student in grade 12 at Oakridge International School in Visakhapatnam, India, is a great example of how hard work and determination make anything possible.

Hard work and determination!

Priya works hard and puts in the extra effort to excel academically. She has always gotten close to perfect scores on all of her tests and assignments, both online and offline. On her SAT and SAT Essay, she’s scored 1560/1600 and 22/24y. Furthermore, she has done well in extracurricular activities at school. Thus making the most of the available opportunities.

What is STEAM?

It’s an innovative way to help a child build abilities for the future in the fields of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics).

Working towards a goal!

Prakeerthi believes that  “No dream is too big or too small”. Prakeerthi is the head girl at Oakridge School. She also teaches English to people who don’t speak English because she wants to help them. Thus, she believes in the higher purpose of giving back and helping others.

A zero-gravity painting hub was built by her and her students for the recently conducted MIT STEAM Challenge– ‘Living in Space’.

In order to overcome obstacles and reach her goals, she relies on her curiosity, engagement, time management, discipline, and a strong sense of self-control. Prakeerthi’s aptitude to think critically and creatively throughout class discussions gives her the ability to think out of the box.

Her teachers, classmates and faculty members think highly of her and give her a lot of encouragement.

Thinking ahead!

Prakeerthi is looking forward to acquiring many more skills at Stanford. She dreams of making an important social impact around the globe. She plans to major in  Computer Science and Management for her Undergraduate Studies at Stanford.
