April will end with a rare astronomical event called the Planet parade. It means that the planets in one line. Earlier, in April, Venus, Mars and Saturn formed a straight line in the sky.

Planet parade after 1,000 years
April 2022 will end with a planet parade which is said to occur after 1,000 years. In this, the planet, Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn will come in a straight line. The planets will be visible from the Earth. There are three common types of planet parades defined as follows:
- The first type of parade occurs when the planets make a line on one side of the sun.
- When some planets appear in a small sector of the sky at one time, and they are visible from Earth’s point of view, it is termed a Planet parade. It happened on 18th April 2002. and last in July 2020.
- The third type of parade is seen on rare occasions and it happens when there are favourable conditions for spotting some or all planets of the solar system.
This planet parade of Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will be the third kind of parade as explained above. Ain’t this interesting? Watch this video from NASA about the planet parade.
In early April, Venus, Mars, and Saturn form a trio in the sky. Not to be left out, catch Jupiter similarly close to Venus on April 30.
