World Veterinary Day, 30 April!

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

World Veterinary Day is annually honoured on the last Saturday of April around the world. This year, the day will be commemorated on 30 April. The day strives to recognize and promote the work conducted by veterinarians all across the world.

Madrid, Spain is home to the World Veterinary Association (WVA), which was established in 1959. World Veterinary Day was created by the WVA in 2001. More than 70 countries and national veterinary organisations are currently members of the association.

Significance of World Veterinary Day!

The World Veterinary Association’s primary focus is on promoting animal health and well-being across the world. In addition, it also serves to address concerns pertaining to animal safety and environmental protection.

Furthermore, it hopes to secure the availability of vital natural resources for the production of animal feed and hay. Above all, this day strives to emphasise the critical role veterinarians play in ensuring the wellbeing of animals all over the world.

The theme for 2022!

The COVID-19 epidemic has increased the workload of veterinarians all throughout the world, particularly in developing countries. In order to deal with challenging circumstances, animal experts require the help of groups, institutions, and governments. The help will facilitate education, training, and mentorship in order to preserve one’s personal health and well-being.

According to the World Veterinary Association’s official website, the subject for this year’s conference will be “celebrating efforts from veterinarians, veterinary associations, and others to enhance veterinary resilience and attract attention to this vital problem.”

The focus of the discussion will be on what more can be done to safeguard these professionals from the everyday obstacles and crises that they face in the course of their work lives.
