My Country, My Mother India
My Country, My India
More than anything else that arrives in my life, I love my country- India the most. If Mother India wasn’t there then our existence would have been not there too. It’s the seventh-largest country in the world present in Asia. India is a vast land of diversity. There are no divisions of casts and religions among us. We celebrate each and every festival and occasion together whether we’re Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian etc. India is also a great example of unity. We, Indians are all like friends to each other.
Land of diversity
The great poet- Rabindranath Tagore had also established Raksha Bandhan to present the unity in us. This tradition isn’t only for brothers and sisters, it’s for every Indian. There’re various religions and casts who have different lifestyles but still, we’re one as we share the same land and live under the same roof, Mother India. In Chicago, America Great Swami Vivekananda had also said about our land of diversity and the power of our unity.
India’s geographical beauty
I am also fascinated by India’s Geographical sides. It has the sixth-longest mountain range – The Himalayas and the highest mountain peak – Mount Everest. The Himalayas are like a natural barrier provided by our India to protect us from the enemies like a mother actually does. Also, she has provided us with a large number of rivers which had carved these beautiful plains where we live now. The purest river of the world – Ganga has been gifted to us too by our nation. Without the holy water of this river, every ritual is incomplete. Other essential rivers are Indus, Bramhaputra, Narmada, Godavari etc. These rivers have given us the ability to grow crops and have our food. That’s why we also call our India a Harvest Country. Other than these we also have some famous natural tourist destinations like Dal Lake in Kashmir, Darjeeling in West Bengal, Puri in Odisha etc.
Flora and Fauna
If we talk about living beings, they’re endless in numbers. There’re numerous floras and faunas present in our country. Some of the unique animals and plants present in India include Sangai Deer, Lion-tailed Macaque, Royal Bengal Tiger etc in faunas and Rafflesia, Cape Sundew, Hydnora etc among floras. We can also see some national parks in India like Kaziranga National park in Assam, Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, Gir National Park in Gujarat etc. Our country is also very nature-friendly because it’s totally green. It’s full of green trees that wave in the silent breeze and birds that sweetly chirp on their branches. Also beautiful ripen fruits along with colourful flowers of wonderful fragrances hang from the branches. India has given us an opportunity to see so much and have so many types of natural foods. That’s why she is a Mother.
India’s struggles
But after our beautiful present India, there were several struggles and bloody fights. When the British captured India, many had given their lives for this current India. Some of our famous freedom fighters include Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Mangal Pandey etc. India got its freedom in 1947 with Rajendra Prasad as the first President and Jawaharlal Nehru as the Prime Minister. Also, there’re many popular people in our country who are known for their fantastic performances in their respective fields. Rabindranath Tagore known to everyone was an all-rounder. He was an author, song composer, artist, dramatist etc. Other famous authors are Sarojini Naidu, Ruskin Bond, Sudha Murty etc. Shreya Ghoshal, A.R Rahman, Arijit Singh etc are some famous singers. In sports, we can talk about Sourabh Ganguli. He was the captain of the Indian Cricket Team. Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar are also popular for playing Cricket. Milka Singh is the fastest runner in India. P.V Sindhu is famous for playing Badminton and Neha Agarwal for Table Tennis.
Famous personalities in India
In Bollywood, a few famous actors include Sharukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan etc. If we say about mathematicians and scientists then Aryabhatta deserves the first place as he had invented Zero and Bramhagupta introduced it to the world. Other mathematicians are Shakuntala Devi, Srinivasa Ramanujan etc. One of the Indian Scientists – A.P.J Abdul Kalam was also the eleventh President resident of India. Our current President is Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Mother India also has some famous heritage sites which attract tourists from all over the world. Some are The Taj Mahal – One of the seven wonders of the world, India Gate, Qutub Minar etc.
I like my nation more due to its facilities and greenery. In my opinion, the outsiders should visit our wonderful country to explore the different places along with our lifestyles of us. To me, the natural beauty of Mother India is its Treasure. I’m grateful to God for being an Indian. I love my country India very much!
