Vidhisha Baliyan is India’s first Miss Deaf World

Vidhisha Baliyan is India’s first Miss Deaf World21-year-old Vidhisha Baliyan from Uttar Pradesh has won the Miss Deaf World Pageant.

The Miss Deaf World pageant was held in Mbombela, South Africa on 22nd July 2019.

20 contestants from 16 countries participated in the contest.
 	Vidhisha was chosen from 11 finalists.
 	She is the first Indian to win this title.

Vidhisha's inspirational story

Vidhisha aims to motivate other deaf people to focus on their talent and not be unhappy about what they don't have.
 	She has 100% hearing impairment in her right ear and 90% in the left, but she can lip-read and talk.
 	Vidhisha is a former international tennis player. She also represented India in the Deaflympics where she won a silver medal.
 	The beauty pageant has helped her gain confidence and develop her personality.

Vidhisha also has a college degree in Physical Education. She is currently a modelling student at the Asian Academy of Film and Television.
