In Dubai, students are welcomed back to school in creative ways like flash mobs and dressing up as parrots. After a long summer break (nearly 8 weeks), everyone in the academic world is happy and excited to be back together.

Students in the United Arab Emirates are back to school for the 2022-2023 school year. Institutions in Dubai are excited about coming up with creative ways to welcome their students back.

Schools seem to be full of excitement and happiness to be back together after the long summer break.

Fun Facts!

  • The Week of Welcome (WoW) event marks the beginning of the new academic year and celebrations last the whole week.
  • School leaders greet and cheer for the students as they move from the entrances, buses, playing fields, and classrooms.
  • These leaders hold back-to-school signs, wave welcome bands, and do everything else that is needed to make the school look festive.
  • Writing walls, moving cameras, and microphones are used to record everyone’s thoughts and opinions.
  • Flash dance mobs, singers and musicians lead the celebrations.
  • Students take pictures with their friends in front of funny “welcome back” props and in photo booths with festive decorations.
  • They are also excited to talk about how much fun they had over the break.
  • The school officials are glad that things have returned to normal enough that students and teachers can go back to school without worrying about COVID safety.
  • The arrival of the yellow buses on the roads is also a sign that it is time for the kids to go back to school.
