Wally, an alligator was rescued when he was 7 years old. The alligator is now certified as an emotional support animal. Joie Henney battles with a terminal illness however WallyGator is a source of inspiration for Joie. 

What is an Emotional Support Animal (ESA)?

An emotional support animal is an animal that helps people with “special needs” feel better by being with them.

  • Wally is able to read people’s emotions and comforts those who are feeling down by hugging them.
  • Throughout Joie’s fight with cancer, Wally has been a tremendous source of strength and encouragement for Joie.
  • Wally accompanies Joie to medical treatments and brings smiles to the faces of both other patients and the medical staff.
  • Wally is very fond of blankets. And loves to stroll around the swimming pool with blankets.
  • WallyGator has a sizeable following on TikTok. He has nearly 70,000 followers.
  • The emotional gator loves to eat cheese popcorn with great enthusiasm.
  • Wally has never bitten anyone, and Joie tells people that they should have respect for him rather than fear him. 
  • The competition to determine “America’s Favorite Pet” currently includes Wally.
  • In the event that WallyGator emerges victorious, he will be awarded the grand prize of $10,000.
