India and China have given the green light to COVID-19 vaccines that don’t need needles. China has given the green light to an inhalation mist that is breathed in through the mouth and nose.

India’s vaccine is made by Bharat Biotech, and people who have never been vaccinated are allowed to use it. CanSino Biologics makes the vaccine in China, which is used as a boost.

India also gives its OK to a vaccine that will be given in two doses and will be given through nasal drops. In the past, these vaccines that don’t require a needle have been approved to protect against poliovirus, flu, and cholera.

As per experts, these vaccines are examples of mucosal vaccines.
