86-year-old bodybuilder set a new record at the Japan Championships!

At the Japan championships, a bodybuilder who is 86 years old beat his own record as the oldest person to compete. He is the oldest person who has ever taken part in the event.

Bodybuilding is the process of shaping the body through exercise and diet.
In the 68th annual men’s Japan bodybuilding championships, Toshisuke Kanazawa competed. Even though he didn’t make it past the semifinals, he believes, “Just having the chance to take part makes him feel blessed.”

- Kanazawa began competing in bodybuilding competitions at the age of 20.
- At the age of 24, he took home his first Japan title.
- At the age of 34, he called it quits on the sport due to personal reasons.
- He made the decision to return to competition at the age of 50 in order to inspire his wife, who is prone to illness.
- Kanazawa came in second place at the 34th iteration of the Japan masters championships.
- He says as a matter of fact that no matter how old you are, you should never stop striving for new goals and putting yourself through new experiences. That’s the true spirit of a bodybuilder.
- He aspires to compete until he is 90 as a bodybuilder.
- In addition, he wants to live a healthy life so that I can serve as a role model for other grandpas and grandmas around the world.
