International Friendship Day is a day to honour the special bond that friends share. The main idea is that friendship makes the world a better place.

The UN General Assembly made July 30th the International Day of Friendship in 2011.

The main idea is that friendship between people, countries, cultures, or even just one person can encourage people to work for peace and build bridges between different communities.

  • On this day United Nations encourages governments, and groups to host events that help to promote a dialogue of solidarity, and understanding.
  • “Culture of Friendship” is a set of values and actions that reject violence.
  • It also aims to prevent conflicts by addressing their causes so that problems can be solved.
  • By making friends and building strong bonds of trust,
  • We can help make the fundamental changes that are needed for lasting stability.
  • We can also get people excited about a better world where everyone works together for the greater good, and we can create a safety net that will protect us all.
  • Ultimately, friendship lets us do all of these things.
